Baraka Final : Wednesday,  December 11 at 11:30-2:30

This assignment introduces students to the realm of performance-based art and how it relates to sculpture. Students are asked to use the other students in their class as their sculptural medium. You must use at least 5-8 students in this action. Use the movie Baraka as a place to conjure from. You must write a one page description of the piece along with what part of the movie inspired you with directions for each participant used. You may use a prop/object if needed.

Sense of place: Contact a family member that you have never met (via internet or phone), ask them to describe an object in a room that has significant family history. You will recreate this object/conversation.  Ask basic 3D foundations questions: what color is it, what was it used for, what texture does it have, does it have a smell, is it symmetrical, does it have any negative space?
