Recycled Artists

The artist Gabriel Dishaw creates sculptures out of recycles materials and calls his projects "upcycled."
More about Gabriel can be found at http://gabrieldishaw.com/.

These shoe sculptures are made from recycles electronics.

Another interesting artist is Pat McGowan who created a piece of art out of traffic cones.
here is a link to the video http://vimeo.com/49156450
More information can be found about Pat on http://www.foggybottomassociation.com/arts/current-exhibit/artist-bios/ (half way down the page)

Let it Slide!

Running The Numbers / An American Portrait

Fail !

Garbage.

A great resource for finding artists working with trash found materials is the San Francisco Dump (Recology) Artist in Residency Program. Here is a list of all the artists with links to their work: http://www.sunsetscavenger.com/AIR/artists.htm

One of my favorite artists, Lauren DiCioccio, did a residency there and created embroidered copies of what she found. She takes everyday found objects and brings them into attention by making them out of fabric and thread. I think her work is interesting and exciting.

Another artist I have found working with found objects/trash, is Jean Shin. Jean Shin also works with taking the everyday object and brings it into a new light.
